Fire Prevention / Community Programs

Free Smoke Detector Program

What is Sound The Alarm

Just one day of your life can change someone else’s forever.

Home fires claim seven lives every day but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. The American Red Cross helps reduce home fire deaths and injuries through Sound the Alarm. Save a Life. This series of home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events takes place throughout the year.

During Sound the Alarm events, we:

  • Install free smoke alarms
  • Share safety information in at-risk communities, and
  • Fundraise to help families prepare for, respond to, and recover from home fires.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wrens Fire Rescue provides and installs smoke detectors year-round for citizens of Wrens. These detectors and installation are free of charge provided the detectors are in stock. Wrens Fire Rescue will also install detectors that have been purchased by citizens.

Call (706) 547-6537 for availability and scheduling an instillation.
